This paper discusses the main causes for which a significant percentage of high school students in Romania fail the Baccalaureate Exam each year. The analysed period of this phenomenon is from 2007 until 2014, 2007-2009 being the reference period when great results were achieved. Based on education importance and Pragmatic Theory of Inquiry and Social Constructivism, this study is looking on why this phenomenon is manifesting itself and what impact it has on short and long term on students and future generations from different perspectives. What this paper is arguing is that without changing the current context a vicious circle that not only keep the situation with no major improvements but also might have a worsening effect in the near future. Thus, this issue needs more attention and sustainable solutions from all parties responsible.
