This study investigated the relationship between charismatic leaders and shared organizational values and the existence of a possible mediation effect on this relationship by emotional intelligence. It was expected that charismatic leaders are run departments where there is more consensus on shared values, a greater fit between the perception of shared values by the leader and the employees, and a greater fit between the personal values of the leader and the organizational values as perceived by the subordinates. These aspects of organizational culture were measured for six value orientations. The results indicate a positive relationship between charismatic leadership and consensus on shared People Oriented values. Also a strong relationship was found between charismatic leadership and emotional intelligence. No other significant results were found in this study. Suggestions for interpretation of the results and for future research are offered.
