This study explores the relationship between social capital and the amount of success of an individual and if gender influences this relationship. The data for this research study was acquired from the ‘BBC Great British Class Survey, 2011-2013’. First, the study focuses on what social capital is and why it could be a good mechanism to explain the amount of success of a person. Next is explained why this relationship could be different for both genders. The results show that there is a significant relationship between social capital and the amount of success of an individual. Gender however has no influence on the relationship between social capital and the amount of success of an individual.
