Creativity becomes more and more a significant factor in Dutch society, economy and everyday life. Cities present themselves as creative conglomerates, in order to attract creative companies, creative people and creative organizations. This has to lead to an increasing employment and an expanding wealth for the city and its residents. In this article, the project Strijp-S in Eindhoven is explored. This project has started in 2006 and is still on developmental stage. Five leading actors are questioned about their role in the project, their expectations, their objectives and the way they attempt to create a creative cluster in Eindhoven. What urban policy is guided to bring in the external creative class and to keep in the inherent creative class? Next to that, an answer is formulated to the question to what extend positive agglomeration effects can be expected.
