Abstract Several actors in business life and in the public sector have an interest in attaining more knowledge about how framing can influence a person’s time-inconsistency. This knowledge can be used to set up systems that are able to direct people into the direction that is best for themselves or most profitable for business life. This paper provides an examination of the existence of the delay-speedup asymmetry when using the measure of irrationality of Rohde (2008). The research is conducted by making use of a graphical analysis on the one hand and the statistical sound method of SPSS on the other. When reading this paper it becomes evident that this is an interesting topic to conduct further research on.
