This study investigated the extent to which education level influences implicit and explicit associations between race (Asian/Black) and sexual stereotypes (submissiveness/dominance) in pornography among Dutch individuals. Implicit attitudes were measured through the use of an originally made Implicit Association Test (IAT), while explicit attitudes were measured through a questionnaire. Results of a Spearman’s correlation supported the hypothesis that education level does not significantly predict IAT scores. Contrary to expectations, multiple regression analyses—controlling for age, gender, and ethnic background—found no significant relationship between education level and explicit attitudes. These findings suggest that education level does not substantially shape either implicit or explicit endorsement of racialized sexual stereotypes. The study highlights complexities in measuring socially sensitive topics such as gender, racism and pornography, and suggests that factors such as language barriers, social desirability, and sample composition may influence outcomes. Recommendations for future research recommendations include greater ethnic diversity in samples, and expansion of research to different stereotypes and cultural contexts.
